Ella Christine Harris Gums, 91, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Tom Jackson and Christine Beard Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Warren Gums, her daughter, Brenda Gums Martin, her brother, Diamond Harris, her sister, Pattie Becker, and one granddaughter. Ella was a member of New Testament Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Harris and her husband, Steve of Emporia, VA; her sons, Larry Gums and his wife, Susan of Roanoke Rapids and Donny Gums, also of Roanoke Rapids; her sisters, Ruth Wester and Addie Mae Stratton, both of Roanoke Rapids, Nancy Patton and her husband, Jesse of Darlington, and Mary Williams and her husband, Donald of LaGrange, NC; her brother, Tom Harris and his wife, Doris of Aurelian Springs; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at New Testament Christian Church with Ministers Dale Morris and Daniel West officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
